Filmmaker and DGA member Bruce Wayne Gillies has served successfully as an Executive Producer, Producer and Line Producer on several Hollywood independent feature films and network television programs. Notably, Mario Van Peebles biopic BAADASSSSS!, an IFP Independent Spirit Awards nominee for best feature film, best director and best screenplay.
Recently, Gillies helped produce Plum Pictures’ TRUCKER starring Michelle Monaghan, Nathan Fillion and Benjamin Bratt and the indie-drama COLUMBUS DAY starring Val Kilmer for Kevin Spacey’s Triggerstreet Prods. Previously, Bruce line produced the powerful docudrama MUSIC WITHIN starring Ron Livingston, with Michael Sheen and Melissa George.
A seasoned filmmaker, Gillies’ background also includes directing the feature film BULLFIGHTS and music videos as well as three well received short films he wrote, produced and edited. In addition Bruce has written several feature and short film screenplays and television treatments. For over twenty years Bruce has been creating, writing, producing, directing, and working on motion picture productions. He started directing in college as an undergraduate helming multi-camera coverage of NCAA college sports. Early on he also performed as a professional Radio D.J. at WCFX, Clare, MI while attending college at Central Michigan University majoring in Cinematic Arts.
Bruce Wayne Gillies grew up near Detroit, Michigan in the suburb of Southgate. He now resides in Southern California with his wife and children.
